I’m setting up a brand new 2200G Ryzen machine and am considering the performance of a lower-core configuration. With 1 GB of RAM and a 240 GB SSD, I’ll need to evaluate how each core count affects overall speed and efficiency.

Officially, Ryzen works best with Windows 10. If you manage to find a method to use it on Windows 8, give it a try.

Windows 8.1 might consume fewer resources, yet I’d prefer Windows 10 for the latest security patches.

Other operating systems won't work and will cause an ACPI error during installation, preventing a successful boot. This issue seems unique to Raven Ridge.

We don’t need anything heavy to eat a 16 GB RAM and a R3 2200G, so let’s move forward.
