Hi, I just got a Windows 8.1 copy and installed it on both my dad’s PC and my laptop. On the laptop, it didn’t warn me about any issues, so I thought I could use the same key multiple times. It worked for a while, but now when I turn on the laptop, it says I need to activate Windows and shows it’s already been used. I’m confused—why wasn’t there a warning before installation? Did you need a new key? Thanks!
During installation, it only verifies compatibility with Windows 8.1 and its edition. It can’t be activated since it’s not online. Activation happens once the system is installed and connected to the internet. To confirm activation early, look for the watermark on the bottom-right corner of the desktop—it should read "Windows 8.1. Build 9600." Your key is valid only on one computer.
Unique code for each Windows version needed, excluding OEM and similar items.
Avoid purchasing another key. Visit Microsoft's site and access the chat support. I encountered the same problem, and they resolved it on my end.
He got the number one license for each computer. It was set up on two machines.
You purchased one license but can install it on two computers because the license is designed for multiple users or devices.
