Attempted the process once more using that program. It states O and 0 shouldn’t appear in the product key. The software’s key contains O and 0, but my OEM key isn’t compatible.

It seems your system might have issues with the registry. Is your Windows Active? Have you fully cleaned the drive? Consider downloading Windows 10 Preview—it's much better than Windows 8.1 and free. You can also purchase a Windows 8.1 product key for £10 if you really need a new version.

Are you checking out the Windows 10 preview? Is it reliable enough for regular use? Since it's still in testing, I'm not fully confident about its stability. I can't afford a product key, so should I pay for it?

Windows 10 performs well, essentially a polished version of Windows 7 or 8. You can opt for their recommended version for maximum stability or choose the latest build which may have more bugs but is still functional. Through the settings you can request various update options. If it functions on older versions, it should work on Windows 10 as well.

You might try retrieving your lost recovery partition through backup methods or system restore options, depending on your setup.

Attempted to enroll in the Insider Program. It seems I must be at least 18. I’m 17. Disappointing. One year later.
