Hi, I checked if the Windows Media Player built-in on Windows 7 supports 4K videos. It didn’t show the video at all, only the audio. On Windows 10 it worked fine. Let me know if you need more help!

You might keep it because there are plenty of free options that perform much better.

Yes, but it will run like complete shit because it is complete shit. I think if you have no codecs it won't play. Just download CCCP or VLC.

tested it in VLC it functions but then the PC runs a first-gen Intel i5 760 processor (the system is pre-built Dell Inspiron 580 desktop) and when many programs are installed it can slow down with browsers such as Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox. Playing videos is more stable on the built-in Windows version.
