Hello, your recent PC build is exciting! For installing Windows 7 Ultimate on your 512G Samsung 850 Pro SSD, it’s best to set up a dedicated boot partition. This allows you to install Windows without affecting your existing storage. A separate partition offers stability and helps prevent data loss if something goes wrong. The recommended size is typically around 20-30% of the total drive space—so about 80-160GB for this 512GB SSD. This ensures enough room for the OS and essential files while keeping your main storage intact. Thanks for asking!

No need for a separate partition. Use the entire device. Windows will form all required partitions automatically during installation.

Setting up a separate drive isn't essential, but it can be useful if you need to customize another partition without reinstalling Windows. I'm using this configuration and reserved 50GB for the operating system. Windows consumes about 20-25GB, leaving space for system backups and the paging file.

You can simply add the entire operating system onto a single partition. There will be no issues.
