Windows 7 is nearing its end, but you can still upgrade to Windows 10 while preserving your installed apps and personal files. If you decide not to upgrade, focus on strengthening security through reliable antivirus solutions and regular system updates.

This tool can safely store your entire collection—games, movies, music, etc.—and upgrade your Windows to version 10. The success rate for transferring all your data is generally high when done properly, but always ensure a backup before proceeding.

As long as you don’t pick the delete option, it shouldn’t even affect it. Especially if the information is stored on different hard drives. The chances of success are similar to what you’d expect on a fresh Windows 7 installation... And they drop further with each update and using registry cleaning tools (though Placebo uselessware doesn’t help much).

I understand the concerns about operating system security being at risk from hackers. I’d really like to just have a backup. I’ve installed many programs and games across more than 4 terabytes, which would be incredibly time-consuming.

A fresh setup of Windows 10 is the best option, though you can continue using Windows 7 through 2025 and beyond!

Begin the backup immediately. If delayed, it will not be possible at this time.

You have several HDDs, just unplug them, set up Windows and reconnect. The same applies to files on your primary drive and applications—you might consider an upgrade. If you're not satisfied with the outcome, a fresh installation is an option.

Windows 10 offers numerous excellent functions and also provides a boost in performance. You have the option to stick with Windows 7, but that would be a missed opportunity.
