The issue appears to be with the USB boot process. After initial loading, Windows starts but freezes. Check your USB connection and ensure it's properly seated. Verify that all components are correctly installed and compatible.

It seems USB 2.0 might not work well with Windows 7 during installation, but once installed it should function properly.

It was an installation, I connected the USB to my dad's PC and set up Windows there, but when I returned it didn't function properly on my own machine.

A DVD would run even more slowly, but according to what I found it should work okay.
