Windows 7 printing issues have been reported.
Feeling a bit annoyed lately. At the office we use a UTAX 2550ci system. We have several Windows 7 computers and a few Windows 10 ones that share the same printer. Last night none of the older Windows 7 machines could print, but all the newer Windows 10 ones could. It looks like something might have been updated on the drivers, since the Windows 10 versions now have the latest UI for the printer. No one has applied any updates. (We no longer use a central server; we rely on local machines with remote desktops and RD printing from each user's PC.) I've gotten help from both the vendor who leases the printer and those using our remote desktop setup, but neither could resolve the issue. One Windows 7 machine that was supposed to print this Friday didn't work when I tried to print today. It hasn't had any updates since January. Anyone know what might be causing this? Could the printer update itself and force a new driver on the user's system? The newest driver available on UTAX.com was installed back in early January, but it didn't help. It would have been easy to upgrade two of the machines to Windows 7, but one machine—especially important for the user—is stuck because it runs critical programs that often fail with newer OSes. I tried updating one with a program that supposedly needed a Windows 8.1, but that didn't work and ended up needing a more expensive upgrade.
