I previously purchased Windows 7 from newegg under what seemed like the retail price. After six months, I noticed the product ID in the control panel lists an OEM tag. It’s unusual since I’ve used this code twice—once on another machine and once via a key on my current setup—and I assumed it was linked to the motherboard. Now that I have a Windows 8 key ready, I’m wondering if I can reuse this key again after uninstalling Windows on this PC.
The conditions linked to the mobile device management policy are specific to registered OEMs, such as those already installed on computers.
