You've been using your Dell Inspiron 5675 for a couple of years and are considering upgrading to Windows 10. The BIOS warning about ACPI compliance suggests you might need a newer BIOS version from your manufacturer. Despite following all standard steps—like using the right keyboard, disconnecting peripherals, and checking BIOS settings—issues persist. You're wondering whether to proceed with Windows 10 or try updating your BIOS to resolve the problem.

Windows 7 lacks complete UEFI support. You must instruct your UEFI to mimic the older BIOS, if possible.

Two installers are available on the DVD—one for UEFI and another for the legacy version. During startup, choose the installer that matches your BIOS (either UEFI or legacy/non-UEFI). If you select the correct version and your BIOS is set to UEFI but it doesn<|pad|>, switch to legacy mode and load the non-UEFI Windows 7 installer.
