I purchased a Gateway NX570XL from eBay at a low price, and it functions properly. However, I need working display drivers because the two sources I tried didn’t accept them. I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with 1GB RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor, and an ATI Radeon Mobility X4100 graphics card. Windows rejects it due to unsigned drivers, even after removing the signed driver requirement. It still falls back to the standard VGA drivers. Can you assist?

I think the issue likely stems from running out of memory while loading the operating system. Once the drivers are ready, the system becomes overwhelmed because it can't handle the RAM constraints, making things slow or unstable. It’s frustrating to type this out, but checking the RAM compatibility details for the Gateway NX570XL could help. Good luck!

I question the RAM issue—it indicates a driver signing problem. Even though I turned off driver verification in Command Prompt.

Half Baked electronics from E-Bay, yum... This was an XP laptop, the RAM and other issues were there too. Let's talk about drivers first—did you visit AMD and install the right drivers for your Radeon? Did you disable Intel HD graphics in BIOS? Mixed brand GPUs have caused driver problems since around 2012, with people resorting to third-party modded drivers just to get by because the original ones wouldn't recognize the hardware. I'm not sure if LeshCat drivers still exist or who makes them. I had to flash the BIOS to a third-party one to turn off the iGPU on an old Acer—it worked, but that's what it takes. Now, regarding RAM, my Win7 machine with minimal settings would use about 2.5GB on the best days. Right now I'm using 2.5GB on Win8.1. So yes, this setup won't run smoothly with Windows 7 if you only have 1GB. Upgrading to 4GB would help, and running a tiny Linux distro might work even better on just 1GB. What are you really aiming to achieve with this laptop?
