Windows 7 fails to start for the first time ever.
Hello everyone, I brought my Schoolpc home since we’re getting new ones. It’s running XP, but I need Windows 7. Some of my classmates already have Windows 7 installed, so I’m trying to set it up the same way. They mentioned I now face a problem: my laptop only boots from a hard drive, so I had to put my Windows 7 copy on a formatted drive I inserted. When I used an external HDD, the system said “bootmgr” wasn’t available. Right now it just shows a black screen with the "_" flashing in the top left corner. It’s been this way for about an hour, and I’m not sure what to do. The BIOS isn’t reachable without the password, and it’s currently vacation time—maybe you can assist me! Thanks ahead of time.
There isn't a way around the password for accessing the BIOS. The ICT staff member can help, but they're currently unavailable.
