Previously I encountered "Windows profiling service has stopped working," followed by Aero being disabled and the performance theme applied. Now I’m seeing messages like "host something or other has stopped working." I also notice "program_errorxxx blank has failed to start," with no apps opening and everything crashing. Has this happened before? I’m planning to reinstall Windows, but I’m just curious about it.

Did you mess around with any Registry's? Normally this happens when you mess around with stuff you are not suppose to May I suggest this guide for reinstalling: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans...-ssds-hdds

Title seems confusing... It might be better to reinstall Windows, as files can become corrupted over time.

I experienced the same issue and a few system files became damaged. It seems a fresh installation is necessary.

You might use sfc /scannow in an admin DosBox to verify your system files are intact. :3

It's a software application; if it becomes damaged, it may cause system failures.
