I notice everywhere there are two CDs—one 64-bit and one 32-bit. I thought maybe last time I loaded it I was using only the 32-bit version, but I swear I had the 64-bit one before, just off the same disc. But it doesn’t show up. Anyone have similar experiences or solutions? My setup is an i7 4790k with an MSI Z97 Slim Kit, 16GB RAM, 1866GB SSD, GSKILL Ripjaw X, Zotac GTX 970, and a RoseWill Capstone 750W PSU.

It's likely they offer separate versions for 64-bit and 32-bit systems.

Download the Win7 SP1 64bit ISO from a verified location and create a burn file.

I think I’ll attempt it. I misplaced my Windows key some time ago, and I’m worried the trial version might cause my computer to stop functioning.

A product key is required for installation and activation, which is provided inside the box. Check it out. If you misplaced your key, you’ll need to purchase a new license. Alternatively, consider using Windows 10 Technical Preview now and buy it later. It’s unlikely you’ve accidentally lost a key on such a high-value product. The trial version lasts 90 days before prompting for a license purchase.
