It’s possible to run Windows 7 with your current setup, but you’ll need to ensure your system meets the requirements for offline gaming. With only 6GB RAM and newer Windows versions demanding more memory, performance may be limited. You might need to adjust game settings or consider lighter games. Using Windows 7 should still work if you manage resources carefully.

7 requires fewer resources but offers similar speed. You might also consider 8.1 if you prefer, it remains available through 2023 and performs better than 7 and 10. As long as you're offline, it's secure. With an internet connection, it should work just fine.

If you're really worried about viruses, keep regular full backups. Antivirus programs can be resource-heavy, so relying on system restores is often better. But if you're confident, you probably won't get infected, and even then you should have a recovery plan.

on a fully operational system, the performance gap won't be significant. but 7 should be fine.

I continue to rely on Windows 7 for my daily online activities. As long as you avoid visiting or downloading from certain sites, you should be safe.
