windows 7 black screen

Recently while playing on my gaming PC with Windows 7 I’ve experienced random black screens each day. I’m using Windows 7 Home Premium on a standard 7200 RPM hard drive, which has worked fine before. I’m considering reinstalling the OS or checking if the thermal paste on my CPU and GPU needs replacing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Black screen similar to a completely black display yet the PC stays running? Or did it power off entirely? Before reapplying thermal paste, install a CPU temperature monitoring app to check your heat levels.

Your temperature readings during gaming are typical and usually don’t drop significantly unless you’re pushing hardware limits. It doesn’t automatically shut off just while gaming—cooling systems respond based on usage.
