Many options exist to purchase it at lower prices, mostly within legal guidelines. Kinguin, scdkey, and similar platforms are available.

If you prefer only the Microsoft Store and don’t trust other sites, your options are limited—it often sells out near new updates. Still, many platforms offer keys for $15 or less, which some people may view negatively. However, you can run Windows 10 without activation, as long as you accept the watermark.

Review the Microsoft Software Swap community. They offer it at a low cost. I’ve purchased 2-3 copies there without any problems.

It seems you're asking about why something costs less and whether that means they're spending money. Clarify your question so I can give you a precise answer.

It's a genuine key, but it isn't from Microsoft. It doesn't expire even when used for free—it only has a watermark on the screen at the bottom right corner.

These aren't offered by Microsoft; they're classified as grey market keys.
