Windows 11 runs slower than Windows 10
Windows 11 feels slower than Windows 10 when it comes to things like right-clicking and opening maps or files. It's not a huge difference, but for me it's annoying. The games run fine on 11 (as long as they are well optimized). I have a good PC so I don't think this is my fault, but I can share my components: a Ryzen 5800X3D, an RTX 3070, 32GB of RAM at 3600MHz, and a B550 motherboard. The power supply is also decent too. So it's not just about the hardware; maybe it's how Windows 11 works with them?
It's all about computers. Sometimes, not every person has the exact same feelings or issues. It's just part of computer science. Not everyone feels a delay when playing games. And sometimes, people aren't that sensitive to see small things like that.
I get that too. It's just not like all Windows 11 problems are the same thing.
Back when we were running Windows XP, there were tons of registry hacks that made a slow computer feel like a speed demon. For example, how fast the start menu pops up or how long it takes to hover over an item in there is tracked by a specific number on the registry. When you have a frozen program and press Alt+Del to stop the stuck thing from running, another number on the registry tells us when the computer closes the program that's been locked up. By now, people just want computers working fast enough for them not to care anymore. Whatever old operating systems people liked before, there are probably better ways to do things today. Messing around with your registry is dangerous and no one should try it because mistakes can cause big problems.
Yeah I feel okay about my issues being normal. It's computer science stuff... I guess computers get better at fixing errors later on too. Like when you play a video game with bad settings, the screen might shake or stutter sometimes. That feels really annoying to me though.
Did you change your computer's operating system, or did you completely wipe the hard drive and put a fresh copy of Windows 11 on it using an installation disk?
It's a clean install, but it feels sluggish compared to Windows 10. Just slower. Apps and games still run okay.
Ten runs a bit quicker than eleven on this computer, but the speed gap is too small to justify upgrading just for extra warranty coverage.
