Hi folks,
I have had this problem for some time. Have gone around and around with Dell Tech Support to no avail.
My Dell G7 laptop randomly shuts itself off.
Event viewer gives the following:
The process C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe (DESKTOP-61C3S6T) has initiated the power off of computer DESKTOP-61C3S6T on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x500ff
Shutdown Type: power off
Comment:
It produces no Memory.dmp file nor are there any Minidump files.
Dell is determined it is a Windows 11 problem and reinstall of Win 11 will fix it. I have reinstalled Win11 with no fix.
Anyone got any ideas or answers?
Thanks in advance.

It's interesting how tech support has become more cautious about admitting faults and handling warranty or service matters for customers who pay. I don't really understand the details here, but if possible, I'd suggest trying to set up another administrator account. Delete the current one and create a regular user account. Log in there and check if the problem continues. You might find it helpful.

Thank you for your feedback. I attempted to use the support assistant, but it didn't assist further.
The new accounts aren't working either.
Thanks for your understanding!

Computer shuts down and restarts unexpectedly, often during gaming or while watching YouTube. Event Viewer shows: process C:\Windows\system32\winlogon... Superuser.com suggests disabling hibernate when plugged in. The idea is to place the laptop on a few 2x2 wood strips to raise it off the desk and see if that prevents the shutdown.

It doesn't hibernate or restart; it simply shuts down. Placing it on a block about 2 inches high in the back causes it to get very warm, possibly due to heat issues. Dell doesn't support this.

I just got a new Dell device. I reviewed the reliability report. Removed Alienware Command Center and reinstalled it. It was reported to be causing crashes. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the assistance!!

Download
HWMonitor (free)
and observe temperatures during idle and under heavy load. Capture screenshots of the HWMonitor screen in both scenarios.
If your laptop has been used for some time, it might just require a thorough cleaning. Make sure the finned heat exchanger next to the fan (or fans) is free from dust and debris. This is where the cooling process happens, so ensure unobstructed airflow through that component.
