These important locations function mainly as platforms, not direct sellers. Third parties handle the transactions and earn a share. When regulators intervene, they typically attribute responsibility to the seller, provide misleading details, and resume normal operations.

Microsoft has repeatedly stated in public that they are aware of the piracy issue. While they haven’t taken a firm stance on addressing it, it’s likely the data holds more worth to them than the licensing income.

Correct.
And if you notice a third-party seller with 1500 positive reviews...you must wonder...how does this seller possess 1500 valid licenses that they can offer at a 90% discount.

I believe the focus isn't really on collecting telemetry data, but rather on maintaining a user base. If you reflect on it, Windows functions almost like the default operating system in office settings. People tend to stick with their current OS, making it difficult for others to switch, especially when entering the workforce. It’s also more convenient for Microsoft to pursue legal action against companies that breach licensing terms than dealing with individual users.

The same applies to Adobe and its creative tools. They likely didn’t prioritize preventing students from pirating software because they understand that if learners eventually build a career using their products, the company will benefit from continued licensing revenue. Since Adobe is the primary platform for many students, companies have little alternative but to rely on it.

As long as a company stays relevant in some capacity, it can maintain significant influence.

The terms of the OEM system licenses demand that the physical device be included with the software. A legitimate Win 7/8/8.1 license is fully suitable for enabling activation on Windows 10 or 11.

It likely depends on the source of your Win 8.1 license.
