Windows 11 laptop fails to recognize display device.
Hey everyone. I'm feeling pretty upset with my Asus Zephyr right now. It's not the hardware itself, but definitely Windows 11. I've owned this machine for about a year and a half, and so far it's been mostly smooth—just occasional display glitches when I reconnect the screen. Everything works fine after a restart. My setup is a docked configuration, using my 3440x1440 monitor through a Type C hub. I've been using it for nearly two years with only minor issues. I've had other gaming laptops before and know they can be a bit tricky because of driver problems. Now I'm stuck. The laptop has been sitting around for about two weeks since I haven't played much. When I try to boot up and update a game tonight, I get no output on my monitor. I follow the usual steps—restart, reconnect, power cycle, etc.—but nothing works. I've even tried different cables, swapped ports, and even updated the GPU drivers. Nothing seems to help. I'm starting to feel frustrated and don't know what to do next. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Have you attempted connecting the monitor directly to the laptop without the hub? If successful, the problem likely lies with the USB C hub.
I haven't tested it rigorously, but my work laptop uses the same dock, setup, and it functions properly. It looks like the dock itself is okay.
