They seem to plan adding support for older systems, likely not too outdated, and it looks like most devices that run Windows 10 will stay compatible moving forward.
I don't suggest using TPM-removed versions of Windows 11, and I wouldn't recommend Windows 11 either at this time. Older hardware should work fine without those restrictions. The main obstacle preventing official Windows 11 from running on older systems is the TPM chip, which can be added as a USB device if needed. I've seen Windows 11 run on Core2Duo, so it seems Microsoft might be resisting updates that don't require such hardware.
I managed to set it up on a C2Q with assistance, not a complete fresh installation. It was an upgrade instead. However, full Windows 11 only works with systems that have a TPM module and secure boot enabled, not just the newer Intel 8th gen and Ryzen 2NG models.
