I have a fairly strong laptop (Zephyrus G14 with 16 GB RAM, a Ryzen 6900HS CPU, and a Radeon RX 6800S) that has recently become almost unusable when trying to connect to the desktop. The mouse will briefly freeze, then restart and work again for a short time, only to freeze once more. This pattern repeats continuously. However, when I open or even minimally adjust any application and launch it, everything functions normally. The problem only resumes when I return to the desktop. Occasionally it occurs even while using a program, but that’s rare. Being connected and in performance mode doesn’t help. I’d consider recording the screen to show the issue, but it doesn’t happen during recording. It appears Windows is attempting to save power when it thinks it has no resources, but its performance is very poor. The problem began about a month ago after downloading a Windows Insider build. Since then, I’m supposedly unenrolled and now use the standard 23H2 version, yet the issue remains. I’ve tried updating my AMD graphics drivers and turned off animations and transparency, but nothing worked. I’m really hoping to resolve this without having to reinstall the OS or spend days reconfiguring everything. Installing a Windows Insider build just to speed up the taskbar tabs was a mistake...

I'm really frustrated. I've already done a full system reinstall, and it still doesn't work the same way. It seems like the 23H2 update might be the issue. I'll likely have to reinstall again, but this time with 22H2.
