Not enough efficiency when titles are always merged and hidden is a major issue for me. StartAllBack lets me avoid combining, which I really needed since otherwise I'd have to scroll through many windows just to locate what I wanted. The preview size is so tiny it's almost unreadable.
I mean it's a guess, but it depends on what you were doing. I didn't see any major drops in performance. MS even pushed the Win11 insiders build to me the day I was hosting a LAN, just before everyone arrived. I thought that might cause trouble, worrying about compatibility issues across the whole network. But it turned out fine. I also didn't notice any change in Cinebench scores before and after the L3 fix and scheduling adjustments. If those bugs impacted certain processes, I wasn't using the software being tested or the slowdown was too small to detect. My setup was 5900x, 32GB RAM, 3600MHz memory, 3080 video.
With that system you'd notice significantly improved FPS, making a 20 loss not too concerning, though it remains a substantial drop.
I personally enjoyed Windows 11, having tried it for about a week before its official launch as part of the insider program. For my main purposes, which are gaming, I've faced no problems. My productivity stayed mostly within MS Office applications, with some photo and video editing work. Certain games like Call of Duty Cold War showed slight performance drops, whereas Warzone kept its speed steady and Modern Warfare improved by about 20-30 FPS. RDR2 and FH4 performed consistently. In benchmark tests, I dropped a few points in Cinebench but gained around 600 points in 3DMark.
I didn't see any drops, that's what my friend said. I mostly play games with an FPS counter and have a custom Rainmeter skin connected to HWinfo64. I keep track of almost everything all the time. If there had been a 20fps change or unusual temperature or CPU usage, I would have noticed it. But honestly, I didn't. I'm not saying it wasn't happening, and some of you here did miss some slow moments.
I haven't encountered any game performance problems since the Beta release. I've been playing since the Dev channel started. After the official launch, I noticed lag in screen recordings when using OBS. I believe this was caused by an L3 cache issue that was resolved with a Windows and chipset update. My main concerns are minor: File Explorer often crashes, the Task Manager just says "Nope" without responding, random applications fail to start at boot, and my Elgato Wave 3 needs its software to run properly—sometimes it doesn't launch at all. I tried a clean driver and software install, but the problem returned. Occasionally, games attempt to launch and trigger errors like "something happened and we don't know what," across various launchers. These are recurring daily issues. I've tried troubleshooting everything, including fresh installs. I didn't have these problems on Windows 10, so it likely relates to Windows 11. I manage it now, but I'd wait a few more months or until the developers release WIn11 updates. If you're after the latest version, go for it—lol!
Good information, thanks. I’m sure I’ll take more time—I don’t think I can handle dealing with several problems every day.
