Hi everyone, thanks for your support. I’ve got some high-performance Evo 980 Pros set up in RAID 0, which perform impressively compared to a single NVMe drive—especially for sequential reads and writes, and a bit better in other tasks. While it’s not essential, this setup is my gaming/play computer, and the experience feels more enjoyable. The problem is that Windows 11 doesn’t recognize these NVMe drives as NVMe devices, so Direct Storage isn’t enabled. I know this can be tricky, anyone with experience? Is there a way to force them to be treated as NVMe? It seems they’re fast enough and support bypassing IO settings (confirmed via fsutil). Thanks again!
It looks like the answer points to needing an NVMe SSD for games running on the latest Windows version with certain graphics drivers. Using a RAID controller driver isn't currently supported.
Checking compatibility now. Works with 22h2 on Win 11 and the latest Optane driver. Still unsure why it didn’t work. Update notes say RAID 0 is supported for direct storage. More details at the provided links. Thread started on Intel forums for further discussion.
That situation has changed; they now include RAID0 configured drives in the latest preview. It seems my current configuration might not be supported yet—maybe Intel needs to release an updated driver. I'm still checking for other issues, just refreshed the BIOS. So far it's not working, but it should be fixed soon.
It appears counterintuitive since DirectStorage relies on the GPU accessing data directly via NVMe, while RAID0 operates as a software layer, making it seem like IndirectStorage. RAID focuses more on bandwidth than low latency. If you aim for DirectStorage, skip RAID0 altogether.

You’ll need to rely on third-party developers adding this capability. Your system will handle the process automatically when launching a compatible game. This functionality isn’t currently available in any games. The first games supporting DirectStorage are anticipated for early 2023. I checked for solutions to run RAID 0 with direct storage or RTX IO. It seems you're facing compatibility issues with Windows not recognizing partition C: as an NVMe drive. You might need to adjust your setup or consider alternative storage methods.
