It's been this way for years now. The centered taskbar really bothers me, and it feels more like a superficial change. I think it'll end up being similar to Vista or Windows 8.

You have the option to position it on the left. Playing games and browsing is fine if you tolerate bugs and possible crashes. But if you need it for school, work, or storing vital information, hold off until the official release comes.
