Over the last few months my computer has experienced intermittent slowdowns where everything—videos, games, music—slows momentarily before returning to normal. The audio often plays in slow motion, and gameplay or video playback drops to around 10 frames per second. Occasionally both monitors turn off and back on. Previously I ignored it, but now the issue persists without stopping. Whenever it slows, it remains sluggish until it freezes completely, causing screens to go black or freeze entirely. The audio also produces loud buzzing sounds. The only solution is force-closing the system by pressing the power button hard. Recently, after another occurrence, I restarted and saw a message prompting me to press a key within a few seconds to skip disk checks. Pressing any key triggers a reboot to Windows, which then reports it’s repairing the C drive.
