Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem with my Windows 11 setup where the screen resizes unexpectedly when I turn off my device. My power settings are set to shut off the display after one minute of inactivity, which helps protect my OLED LG C2 screen. However, when I move the mouse to wake it up, all open windows suddenly shrink or change size noticeably. Now I have to manually adjust the size of browsers and other apps. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? System info: Windows 11 (fully updated), GeForce 4090 with latest drivers 551.52. Appreciate any advice!

It seems the default screen size is smaller than your monitor's resolution. To fix it, you might need a dummy plug like HDMI or DP. Change the connection type to match what you're using. I saw a discussion about this on another forum. If you're worried about LCD burn-in, it’s not a big issue with modern monitors—they have solutions for that problem.

Wonderful! Thank you so much! I didn’t expect this to be the problem. Right now I’m only using HDMI. My questions: How can I change resolution when I only have a fake screen? Should I purchase a 4K fake display so it automatically sets the default to 4K? I’m feeling a bit confused. I discovered this link: https://www.amazon.es/FUERAN-Plug-Virtua...r=8-8&th=1 Then I found others that suggest virtual display drivers which essentially handle this without needing a fake adapter? Thanks again!

I didn't think about a virtual display. It seems more affordable, I hope it gets fixed.
