Windows 11 Alienware m15r7 experiences delay or stuttering in audio during a brief moment.
Hey everyone, I’ve got an Alienware m15r7 with an i7 RTX 3070 Ti and 32GB RAM. Recently, I started noticing audio issues like lag, stutters, and crackling. Sometimes it happens when I multitask or open another window, making the system feel really sluggish. It’s been happening even after I updated everything on my PC. I tried playing some YouTube videos in full screen on a second monitor without using them elsewhere, but after about two hours, those audio problems came back three times. At first I thought it was just a post-processing issue with the videos, but now I’m not so sure. It’s happening with both my Logitech speakers and the Alienware speakers. Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks!
Sorry, I didn't mention that before. I've faced problems with laptop speakers and monitor speakers. Dell didn't ask me to update the Realtek drivers, but I installed it anyway, restarted the system, and watched a YouTube video while typing. This isn't the first time it happens—I remember a few years ago with an older i5 Dell using a SATA SSD. After Intel released those BIOS updates for security issues, I experienced audio glitches often during heavy tasks, like downloading files over a 250Mb fiber connection. At that point, I gave up and thought my laptop was outdated. Last year, I bought this Alienware model, but I'm not sure if the issue is similar to what others have reported with other Dell models.
Laptops can definitely be frustrating, regardless of the manufacturer. If the problem stems from the BIOS, updating it might help. It’s possible your current BIOS is outdated, which could explain the issue—especially since the latest driver I found for your model was released this month. You can download it from Dell’s support page (link provided). The file appears to be an .exe, which should be straightforward to install. The best chance is trying it out, though it might not resolve everything.
Ensure your laptop is connected via a power cable to the wall and keep it powered while updates run. Avoid pressing the power button during the update process, even if the screen becomes black temporarily, to avoid damaging the BIOS chip.
For your reference, here is the direct download URL for your bios:

Aight! good luck! Lets hope it fixes it, but i highly doubt it, because the bios details do not mention audio related fixes
Latest bios info, ongoing audio issues, and another YouTube clip.
Are you experiencing issues only with YouTube videos? If so, we can explore various solutions by testing other platforms such as Twitch or Spotify Web Player, and experimenting with different browsers. This approach helps identify the root cause of the problem.
