ASUS might be involved, possibly related to API. It seems there could be 32 and 64 bit versions. My concern is that the system was affected by corruption, bugs, or malware. The clean boot resolved the issue. Monitor Task Manager, Resource Monitor, Process Explorer, and Task Scheduler. Observe when AsusAPI64 and AsusAPI32 reappear. Exercise caution with downloads and their sources.

Returning to the standard boot process, I finished all tasks related to Asus but the problem persists. I removed a few questionable programs like Razer Synapse, but it's still slow. I plan to uninstall Asus Armoury and reinstall it later to check if that improves things.

Consider testing without disabling first versus removing it.
Monitor the impact.
Look at the changes in the toolbar indicators.
Keep track of the data that shifts around.

An alternative method involves using the Windows task manager for simple troubleshooting. Go to the autostart tab and deactivate one application at a time before restarting. Begin with unknown or unnecessary apps such as ASUS.

The approach should be systematic and avoid adding more than one change at once.
Excessive effort can hide both the issue and the remedy.
Or it might exacerbate the situation...
