I made an error linking my local account to a Microsoft account after not doing it in Windows 8. Now I’m forced to use my Microsoft account instead of my old password. The issue is that Microsoft restricts passwords to 16 characters, so I had to create a new local account without linking it to Microsoft. Windows 10 also enforces this limit. (My previous password was longer than 16 characters.) Can I get back my 17+ character password?
Unfortunately, I prefer Gmail because it supports longer passwords—my current one is 20 characters.
My score is 6 points lower with 4 special characters, 5 uppercase letters, and the remaining random digits. Everyone needs to pay more attention to their online safety.
