Another day, another problem... This time it's about the shutdown issues. My notebook runs Windows 10, but there are some unresolved flaws. I'm trying to accept them, but the glitches keep happening. Occasionally (about 25-50% of the time) it doesn't shut down properly. When I press the power button, it seems to start shutting down, showing floating dots with a shutdown message, then the screen goes black. After about 5 seconds it returns to the lock screen. I don't know why this happens. The physical power button works, so it's not that. The only way to fully shut it down is by holding the power button or removing the battery, but I often leave it in that state. I looked through the logs, but didn't find anything helpful... Anyone can assist me with this?

You're experiencing problems during restarts where it freezes on the spinning dots.

It doesn't stay on permanently; it just resumes after a shutdown and restarts. You can reuse it when the lock screen appears again.

Upgraded and then updated it. No clean install will work; the issue I encounter is because the driver for the iGPU isn't available on Windows 10 D: it relies on the W7 drivers that were installed before the upgrade. The refresh didn't remove them.

Refresh doesn<|pad|> can't be a pure clean setup... I'd strongly suggest a fresh install for the driver problems. Usually you can find 8 compatible drivers on 10...

Cortana enjoys spitting out random mistakes. I'm not using Cortana directly; it's likely the search engine behind it that triggers this.

unless you're in the usa (and even then), cortana doesn't help much.
