You're wondering why your version is still 1803 instead of 1809. It could be due to several factors—check that all drivers and games are up to date. Remove any legacy or DRM-supported titles if they cause problems. Ensure your security software is current or remove it. If you ran a registry cleaner, you might need a clean install.
I think 1809 wasn't widely available because Microsoft faced big problems. They rolled it out, stopped due to issues, worked on fixes and tried again, but then encountered more problems so they halted further releases. Many users were left behind intentionally by Microsoft without receiving the 1809 update. Regarding your suggestions, I’ll verify if all my drivers are current. I don’t have any games installed (not a big gamer!), and I haven’t experienced any malware during my use of the machine.
I attempted the steps you recommended, which involved updating the drivers since I didn’t have games installed and hadn’t experienced any malware problems. I also had to refresh the BIOS because it appeared outdated. Following the update, I encountered a new error code: 0xc1900130. There appears to be more detailed information about this issue online than the previous one I received. I decided to follow some online suggestions by freeing up disk space and retrying the download. Here’s a screenshot (attached). UPDATE: The problem was resolved! After updating the BIOS, I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter and executed an "sfc /scannow" command. It seems the troubleshooter helped fix some issues. My laptop finally reached version 1903. It was more challenging than expected, but it worked eventually and prevented my PC from being permanently damaged! Edited June 25, 2019 by litetaker
