This situation has occurred twice recently, both a few weeks ago and today. I’m running a Lenovo Legion 5-15IMH05 with the Type 82AU model. When I power on the laptop, it displays the error message “User profile service failed” followed by “Preparing Windows.” I wait a few minutes but nothing happens. So I manually press the power button to restart, then enter the pin again and proceed with “Preparing Windows,” which boots me into fresh settings. All files on the C: and D: drives are intact, everything resets to default, mouse DPI is lowered, most applications remain unpinned from startup, and the first boot settings appear correctly. I’ve attached a photo of what it looks like now, and how it should normally appear. Both times after this odd event, I simply reboot via Windows and it returns to normal. I’m puzzled by this occurrence. After four years using Windows 10, I haven’t seen anything similar on my PC. Is this a laptop-specific issue?

Hi Mr.Stork, it's common to encounter corrupt user profiles on Windows systems. This usually points to underlying problems like a failing storage device or damaged files. Using the Lenovo Vantage tool for a hardware check and running diagnostics could help. A verification process followed by system file repairs would be wise. If you need guidance on any of these steps, feel free to ask and I'll provide more information.

I verified that everything appears to be in order. The log file has been attached. Since all seems normal, it's unclear what might be causing the problem. Feel free to let me know if you'd like an alternative. Thank you.
