Hey there! I'm excited to share my experience with an Acer Extensa 5230e. It's a budget laptop from around 2009, and while it isn't officially listed as supported for upgrades by Acer, Windows Update has already started downloading it. The GWX app confirmed compatibility, but I'm concerned about driver issues since none of the drivers have been updated since the machine's release. My question is, are these worries justified or just unnecessary stress?

Acer's failure to release driver updates doesn't imply the parts manufacturers didn't. It's likely many components still have driver support in Windows 10. The only definitive way to confirm is installing Windows 10.

There is a difference between "Support" in the sense of you can call and get help, and "support" that it will work. Acer is saying that they haven't tested Windows 10 on your system, nor plans to, and won't help you for technical support, even if you pay for it, if you switch, hence it doesn't support it. The "Get Windows 10" defines "support" as in: -> You have the minimum specs of Windows 10 -> It has all the drivers to make your system work (although it doesn't say if it will work well at 100% or not)
