You might have observed updates from other drivers besides the latest 378.49 or hotfix 378.57 that Windows 10 installed automatically. I’m certain others share this frustration. Here’s how to handle it: 1) Get DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller" from the provided link and place its files in a new folder. 2) Use the Windows Show/Hide Driver troubleshooter at the specified URL. 3) Launch Start Menu, type "msconfig", press Enter, go to the "Boot" tab, check "Safe Mode", click Apply and OK. It will prompt a restart into Safe Mode. 4) Once in Safe Mode, open DDU, then clean and restart. 5) Install the driver you wish to use. The 376.33 version works perfectly for me, so I’ll proceed with that. 6) After installation, double-click the saved "wushowhide" file and follow the prompts. 7) Run Windows Update to ensure no unwanted changes are occurring.

I saw the same thing too, though my approach was easier. I simply reinstalled the previous NVidia driver after removing the current one. Everything worked fine.

I attempted that, but as soon as I restarted and ran Windows Update, it tried to install it once more.

It's frustrating that they didn't update drivers for non-generic ones, especially since they had promised otherwise.
