Windows 10 update
Windows 10 update
Hi guys, i'm having an issue after updating my system with the new Windows 10 build (17763). After the update, I encounter problems such as being unable to overclock my CPU. My machine is an AMD Athlon X4 860k with the 3.7 core, and before the update it ran smoothly up to 4.4. Now even at 3.8 it crashes instantly and the screen goes black. MOBO - A58M-K
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 860k 3.7.
I really need your help and thanks for your time.
There's your problem. I would ditch that idea, reinstall Windows and ONLY overclock in the bios unless your board doesn't support it in which case it's a bad idea to be overclocking in the first place. If you want to try your hand at configuring a bios overclock, this is a decent way to get started. Overdrive is not officially, or even marginally, well supported in Windows 10. It is an old application. I've not seen anybody have much luck with it on Win10.
I've been using it for around six months now, but it seems my motherboard doesn't support OC, since I can't find any settings. After the update, I'm not able to do anything. Thanks for your time and response.
The motherboard allows BIOS overclocking. Just switch to advanced mode instead of EZ mode.
I fix my system, but now my Al Suite 3 is missing and I can't locate the download on the Asus website. That's all. At least the OS is working again. Thanks for your time and help. Good luck, and have a nice day!
