I located a direct download link for the Windows 10 updater on a PC I recently built. It displays the error, "This update isn’t suitable for your device." You’re using Windows 8.1 Pro, an ASUS R9 390, and an i5 4690K at 4GHz. Despite being capable of running Windows 10, there’s no indication that the 8.1 Pro version can upgrade to it. The update isn’t listed for your edition, so what’s the problem? It seems like a registered copy, but you’re eager to get it quickly.

It seems unlikely to reach the 29 unless you're seeking the insider details.

Was der W10-Upgrader noch deinen PC überprüft? Es ist möglich, dass du es beheben kannst, indem du ihn zurücksetzt und noch einmal deinen PC prüfst.

The updater should appear in your taskbar, though I don’t know the exact OS version. I’m trying to find out what version I have, but it’s not showing up.

Are you sure your operating system is current with the newest Microsoft patches via Windows Update? You'll need to install them if you're not already.

You're testing the updater now, and you're having trouble locating the upgrader.

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and look for a file named GWX. If missing, install the update and wait until it appears. When found, right-click the task and run it; it may take time but will show the icon in the tray once set up.
