Curious if someone can assist—I've upgraded my ASUS X470-PLUS TUF Gaming to the newest BIOS (v6024 from v5216). After launching Windows for the first time post-update, MSI Afterburner didn't activate with my chosen profile (MSI RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming X is my GPU), and I couldn't find or modify any settings. Restarting didn't help; instead, I received a repair warning. Each reboot failed because a different key file or driver was missing. When I tried using a basic laptop (Windows 10 21H1), I created a bootable USB with the installation media tool and attempted a clean reinstall/repair. The process was smooth initially but ended with a blank blue screen, followed by another blank one after multiple tries. I even reused the USB but couldn't proceed further. My question is why I upgraded from an older BIOS version—after receiving a lightly used 5800X from a friend, I knew updating was necessary for the 5000 series support. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’d really like to give it a shot, but only because I’m limited to just one and can’t get another.

Consider installing a bootable Ubuntu version that will wipe your main hard drive clean.
