I notice the other devices are visible, yet these two laptops aren't communicating. Neither of your older machines can reach or connect to them via Wi-Fi, and the ARP table lists different entries.

firewall is off correct? This seems like a network configuration issue or a wifi setup that blocking it, as wired works fine. I can't think of any easy way to really frim thi, id personally probably start doing packet caps and see where the data ends up, but that get complex quickly.

The firewall is disabled. To set packet caps, you'll need to enable it first.

Have you attempted this? Fresh installation on the laptops? Consider using Wireshark, though it can be challenging. Honestly, I’d try to find a NAS or cloud storage instead, as direct PC-to-PC isn’t ideal.

I don’t have used a new setup, but I own a Windows 10 Pro DVD from 2017. Would you like a budget-friendly NAS option?

What's the size? How much space does this Synology offer? This model is compact—perfect for limited storage needs. If you prefer cloud-based tools instead, options like G Suite or Office 365 are simpler and require minimal management.

Likely we'll have a 2 by then and receive 8 tb drives. Still prefer cloud storage; the suite offers unlimited data for about $10 a month. What's your backup strategy?

We utilize ease us todo backup, storing vital information on a legacy Windows 7 PC via the network and another duplicate on an external hard drive. Is this effective? Do reliable NAS options include drives of 8TB?
