I picked up a PC from a friend who couldn't get it running, fixed the wiring and everything was perfect. Now I’m facing a problem where my keyboard and mouse work in BIOS and Windows Recovery, but when I boot into safe mode or regular mode they stop working and I can’t log in. I’ve tried testing them on another machine and used an old Lenovo keyboard that most people own—it wasn’t a gaming model. I’m thinking about reinstalling Windows but want to get the Windows key.

If you encounter this problem in the future, I attempted all available solutions online and they failed. Restarting Windows resolved the issue, so it might be a persistent bug. I’m hoping a reliable solution will become available.

Hello. It's clear that the issue wasn't limited to a single driver problem—BIOS worked while Windows Safe Mode failed. Reinstalling seems to be the simplest solution.
