Windows 10, Silence all except active app
Hi Sindre, I checked the forums and found nothing, but you're looking for a fast way to mute just the active app while keeping others running. A quick key shortcut would be ideal, and ideally it could auto-unmute everything when the toggle is off. Any suggestions or existing tools that fit this need?
My prediction: It’d likely need some complex Windows API work, which seems unlikely since it doesn’t appear to exist. AHK is great, but it’s still a macro-based tool. This kind of task works best when the active window is in fullscreen mode and you’re using alt-tabs. I’ll keep following this idea just in case I’m mistaken (which would be interesting).
The complete set I inquired about probably demands significant API workarounds. Still, I’m hoping there’s a straightforward way to silence only the active app—unmuting everything else isn’t too much of an issue. If a new app appears afterward, it might need the hotkey again or require manual muting instead.
