I believe there might be a problem. I'm using the word "issue" only because I'm not entirely clear on what's happening. Last night, when I shut down or restarted Windows with Chrome, Photoshop, and the file explorer open, everything reopened automatically when I logged back in. It feels like the computer is waking up from hibernation. I've searched online but haven't found a solution or answer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

It occurs with me too, because I always leave Task Manager and BitTorrent open. Each time I log in, the Task Manager launches automatically and sometimes BitTorrent starts as well (I turned off its auto-start so it shouldn’t happen). But this only happens for my user account—when my sister logs in, everything works fine. From the Start menu it looks like my account is marked as "signed in," even though I haven’t used the PC since it was powered on. It feels like hibernation, but when I log in, my programs boot up instantly, not after a delay. This seems to have started after updating to the Fall Creators Update, possibly causing the issue. I also notice that whatever this is, it makes booting faster—now it only takes about a second instead of 4 to 6 seconds.

The initial setup and login process is incredibly quick, almost as if you're simply unlocking a secured computer. This began on my system after the Fall creators update, though not instantly. I recently reinstalled Windows and this issue occurred for the first time last night. I considered reaching out to others for advice or solutions. I'm currently reinstalling Windows to determine if that fixes the problem. I'll provide an update soon.

I just completed reinstalling a brand new version of Windows 10. I only added the drivers from the manufacturer site and ran the Windows Update, which also installed the fall creator update. I kept one window open before turning off the computer, and when it came back on, I noticed that window was still there. I’m confused about what’s happening. I can’t find any information suggesting this is part of the creators update, but it bothers me a bit like an OCD thing.

Found the fix - thanks to this user https://www.tenforums.com/general-suppor...33ccfb8640 Go through Windows updates, tap Advanced Options, select "sign-in Options," scroll down and disable "use my sign-in info" to complete setup.

It appears Cortana has the "Pickup where I left off" feature enabled. Access Cortana, navigate to Notebook, select Pickup where I left off, and disable it.
