Windows 10 runs poorly with games.
Hey there, I’m facing a weird issue. Suddenly everything in my games slows down to a crawl. I’ve updated drivers and even rolled back a few days ago, but they still cap at around 20 frames per second. It’s affecting CS:GO, Battlefield V, and GTA V. None of them run smoothly above 20 FPS. Cuphead stays steady at about 30 FPS, but I’m not sure if it’s limited either. It might be a Windows issue since all the games are impacted. I think power settings could be the culprit, though I’ve checked those too. My machine has an i5-4460 processor, GTX 1070 graphics card, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, I’m not sure if this is the right forum—sorry for the confusion. Thanks, Bas

Run DDU on version 1070 and perform a fresh installation with the latest updates. Experienced a strange problem where games suddenly performed poorly, especially Predator Sense and Afterburner failing to detect my GPU clock speed after a sudden Windows update. After a clean install, everything functioned properly. Note: This occurred last week, indicating it's relatively recent.
Check the game settings for any FPS restrictions. Some titles start with a FPS limit turned on. Also, consider reinstalling CS:GO if it improves performance.
I need to let you all know I'm sorry for taking your time. While working on something else yesterday, I connected my monitor directly to the motherboard, but it still functioned properly. Appreciate your assistance!
Recent standards indicate a distinct change in how Windows 10 handles its game mode functionality.
According to what I understand, they fall within the margin of error of each other. Plus, it remains just a notification blocker during gaming (No matter what Microsoft says).
