You're considering keeping Windows 7 while trying to improve performance on Windows 10. It's possible to upgrade or tweak settings without fully removing the older version. Look into partial installations, system optimization tools, or adjusting settings that could help boost speed without a complete switch.

The article from Tek Syndicate offers helpful resources for eliminating many unnecessary Windows 10 programs. It’s unclear whether this will significantly improve your system, though the Xbox app with built-in desktop capture is worth removing. I performed a clean installation on my Desktop and suggest doing so unless you’re completely certain about switching everything over.

your system specs include a pentium dual-core cpu e6700 at 3.2 ghz, 8gb ddr3 ram running at 1333mhz, a gtx 650, a 500gb hdd spinning at 7200 rpm, and scans are showing no virus presence.

I see, my processor details aren’t great, which could make performance sluggish. It seems tasks now take about four times longer on Windows 10 compared to earlier versions.

You won’t lose the capability to revert if necessary. Simply download the Windows 7 version you currently have and reinstall it using your key.

Windows 10 clearly performs better than 7, making it a solid choice unless your system has issues. A clean installation might help, but ensure you have the correct license before proceeding.

I purchased the PC ready-made, so locating the key is straightforward.

I guess I did manage to locate it... saw a sticker on my PC after thinking it might have been removed... definitely not smart!

I'm about to perform a clean installation now. I'll get back to you once it's done, and thank you for your support so far.
