Windows 10 release on 12/11/24 caused a complete failure of USB devices.
Hello everyone, I just installed the latest Windows 10 update and now all my USB devices aren't working during boot. I've tried booting in safe mode, reverting to an older version, and using Windows' automated repair, but it hasn't helped. My USB devices still function in BIOS, so it seems like a software problem. Any advice would be really useful. I work from home and this is really frustrating. Thanks! Jared
Check the device manager for any hardware updates. Look for USB driver support. If not, identify your motherboard using System Information in Windows search.
I encountered the same problem recently on a Windows 11 setup running on an AMD FX with AsMedia USB. The system supports PS2 peripherals, but it only has one PS2 port and I have a backup PS2 keyboard. Could you check if your USB controller is also AsMedia?
