Hi everyone, I received the Windows 10 update last night and chose to proceed. However, it seems to be causing some problems. For instance, certain games aren’t launching properly now. I tried GTA V this afternoon but it didn’t start at all—possibly due to a social club or some other issue. Then I played Watchdogs, which worked but crashed when I entered a vehicle. Most of my games, including GTA V and Watchdogs, are purchased, though I still have a few pirated copies I wanted to test, like ETS 2. After reading about Windows 10 disabling pirated content, I’m not optimistic about these working now. - http://www.myce.com/news/windows-10-upda...are-76883/ It seems I’ve faced driver installation and GeForce Experience issues too before. Did anyone else encounter similar problems?
I understand your concerns... My system's performance was solid overall, covering RAM, CPU, and GPU. Games worked well on Windows 10 Pro, though I faced several internet-related problems. I had to revert to Windows 7 until the connectivity issues were resolved on another machine. Some of the challenges included being unable to set up a homegroup, permanent changes to internet registry settings that kept resetting, random lag spikes, unresponsive Nvidia drivers, and frequent crashes in the control panel. Even with updated drivers for Windows 8/8.1, Microsoft claimed they would work, but clearly they didn’t. I believe the problem stems from the manufacturer rather than Microsoft. After a fresh installation of Windows 10, the issues persisted. Still, I appreciate the overall feel of the OS and plan to try it again once I can adjust my settings properly.
Consider skipping GeForce Experience until Nvidia releases better drivers. Instead, install the newest drivers from Nvidia, selecting Adanced over Express during setup. Disable Vision 3D features and GeForce Experience. Check the box for a clean installation (this is crucial). After restarting your system, test it again.
