This topic might already be resolved. I faced a new problem recently that hasn't occurred before. After updating Windows 10 Pro on a freshly assembled system, I started setting up my typical applications. During the process, I removed some that I no longer needed. I saved the installer files on my desktop in a folder. Using the Add/Remove programs uninstaller, I deleted each one. When trying to remove the downloads and shortcuts, I clicked Delete in the dropdown but nothing happened. I attempted to move the folder to the Recycle bin, yet it didn't work. I deleted files individually without issues, but no error appeared. I verified the Properties/Security settings and confirmed my admin rights. I explored several ways to clear this issue, finally using Unlocker which successfully removed the files one by one without disturbing other data. I'm curious if this was due to an error or if Windows handled itself improperly.

It seems the folder might have been removed but didn<|pad|> to appear intact. Did you restart your system? Verify if the files are accessible now. It could be a brief glitch—Windows might have crashed briefly. You might be running an outdated version that has known issues.

Following the Win 10 setup (downloaded from Microsoft on a USB flash drive) onto a Samsung 970 Pro M.2, there were no other drives connected. After finishing, I ran the updates and let them complete. It doesn’t matter what version was installed; it was just the one from last week. Then I began adding my programs as planned. I chose to remove a few that no longer interested me, but some leftover files refused to delete. I copied parts of them into a desktop folder, possibly breaking their link to the main installation. I’m trying to figure out why this happened—was it my mistake or a result of Windows 10?

Consider verifying their presence in either the default or public desktop user folders.

I found a way to eliminate them with Unlocker 1.9.2. It's interesting to know why it occurred at first, but everything seems fine now.
