They’re the mods from Team OS—perfect. I run one in a VM with GPU pass-through on top of Linux. You can get them from Team OS; just try them in a VM first to see if they fit your needs. For an older machine, it’s better to install Linux instead, especially if you don’t plan to use anything specific that needs Windows.
Set up a dual boot configuration carefully, focusing on optimizing performance for your 250GB SSD while running Forza Horizon 5.
Just grab a mod. The one I rely on fits under 4 GB after installation. It’s a version 11 with everything stripped away. Just check it out, but you’ll have to sign up for Team OS.
I wouldn't rely on that for daily driving. The video shows about 400-300MB of RAM usage—which isn't much. It's just Windows; the machine only had 2GB, so it leaves space for other programs. Adding more RAM would make it use even more at startup, around 3 with an 8GB system. This looks pretty risky. Switching your username to "Phoenix LiteOS" is a big change? What?! I rely heavily on Windows modifications from Team OS. They function well. Superior to the standard edition in many ways. They're free from all unnecessary issues.
It hinges on what you require. These configurations are ideal for those who love Windows XP, seeking a clean, uncluttered experience without unnecessary features like bloat, tracking, diagnostics, reporting, surveillance, or advertisements. I've relied on it as my primary vehicle for some time now—very reliable and consistently functional. Plus, UWP apps from the store and Xbox Game Pass also work smoothly, which is uncommon in a minimal setup.
This configuration should meet your requirements perfectly. Forza Horizon 5 runs smoothly on this setup, according to some users on TeamOS, and requires minimal storage space. To prevent issues, consider activating a paging file (virtual memory) before launching demanding tasks, particularly if your system has less than 16 GB of RAM.
