Someone else’s Windows 10 was turned off overnight. I have a valid key that’s upgraded, but the deactivation message claims it lacks a legal license. I’ve looked into it and found this can occur during Microsoft maintenance on their servers.

I've done this a few times; I'd just restart it in a few hours to check if the problem gets fixed.

Type the commands in the prompt to manage the system. If needed, restart the computer after using ; slmgr -rearm. Updated on November 8, 2018 by wkdpaul

I wasn't able to provide the source because I don't follow any English-language news channels, haha.

The activation servers on Windows 10 are experiencing problems, leading to PCs losing their activated status. This issue was also encountered earlier today in the workplace.
